Blocked Paths, Boundless Hope: VA to VV May Not Be Possible, But Victory Still Is

Today, I write not just as a parent, loved one, or friend—but as a witness to the fragile, beautiful fight for life.

Jahmya is facing an immense battle. Due to limited access to her arteries, doctors aren’t able to switch her ECMO support from VA (veno-arterial/ Heart & Lungs) to VV (veno-venous/ Lungs), a transition that could make a major difference in her recovery. In medical terms, it’s a roadblock. In human terms, it’s devastating. But in spiritual terms, it’s a moment to lean even harder on faith.

Right now, the doctors say it’s not good. But God.

When the body runs out of options, we believe the spirit can still carry us through. Jahmya’s story is not over. Her breath may be assisted, her arteries may be inaccessible, but her purpose, her strength, and her spirit are untouched.

I know we’re not alone in this fight. So I ask—pray with us. Speak life over her name. Believe for a miracle that medicine can’t manufacture. Because even when there is no earthly way forward, we serve a God who makes ways in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Scripture to Stand On:

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19

Hold on, Jahmya. We’re holding on with you.
