Another Step Forward: Jahmya’s Bedside Bronchoscopy

This morning was a great morning for Jahmya yet intense afternoon in our UniqWarrior journey. The medical team performed a bronchoscopy right at her bedside to help clear and relieve her left lung, which had been struggling.

A little backstory: At 18months old, Jahmya had a left upper lobectomy, meaning about 70% of her left lung was removed. That surgery alone was a huge battle—but as always, she pulled through like the warrior she is.

Now, she’s been facing a new complication in the left lung: stenosis, which is a narrowing of her airways that can make it even harder for her lungs to function properly. Today’s bronchoscopy was essential—not only to relieve pressure and clear out blockages, but also to help her breathe more comfortably.

The doctors were able to clean out as much as they could during the procedure. They also administered Pulmozyme, a medication that helps break down and thin mucus in the lungs. This should help reduce the build-up and make it easier for her lungs to clear out on their own moving forward.

Even though this was tough, it’s an important step in Jahmya’s healing. Every procedure, every decision, every day is a fight—and Jahmya keeps showing us what strength truly looks like.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, support, and love. Please keep lifting her up—her story is far from over, and her purpose is unfolding one miracle at a time.
